phew. i drew the line art back in may, but then my mother's laptop crashed and i couldn't add colour on the computer, so i started adding the colour 2 weeks ago. haven't had an artwork take this long before...

i really hated the colour. i wanted it to be blue/orange contrast, but then it turned out quite multicoloured @@. in the end i fixed it mostly, then adjusted colour balance in photoshop a bit...sorry for cheating =P. and sorry for having to explain that they're on an airship, since i don't think i conveyed that very well.

These 3 kids are from a story that TriangularCube is writing. story is very complicated...mostly about these 3 when they're grown up. the prologue is about them as kids, and they really appeal to me. i see their friendship in master works like Harry Potter and X/1999, where the sweetness of childhood is more sweet because of terrible things that happen afterwards. the boy at the back i've drawn twice already, at [link] and [link] - which are versions of him grown up.

11/06: changed the fireflies glow a bit.

wow oh wow...while your drawing here may not be "The best" out of all the drawings on DA (though it is extremely good), it is the only one that actually has gotten to me. Ive been staring at the picture for hours now in sadness even though this picture to others is "cute" (and I agree). But it just makes me think back. I can somewhat relate to what my perspective of the drawing is.
I've drawn hundreds and hundreds of drawings before (None which I've scanned and posted on DA), but most of all I take pride in my writing. Your drawing inspired me to write a story :D and I'll be very interested to see how Triangularcube's story comes out. Bravo.

Thank you for this detailed comment...I am glad I have inspired you. Actually, Triangularcube's story is on hiatus while he concentrates on school, but I would be happy to read what you write based on the picture, if you don't mind?
