Yet another medium for one of the most captivating and painful characters i have ever encountered. the other 2 are at [link] and [link]

This is my first time trying any photmanipulation...it gave me a headache, and it wasn't exactly what i was looking for...but...heh...one thing i'm happy with, or, not happy, happy's not the right word...but i took all of the photos that went into this work, yes even the sting ray, if you can find it. i hesitate to use stock for some reason...Physalis is supposed to be caucasian, but i don't know any caucasian girls around here who i know well enough to ask for a weird model shot. so i used my own photo.

Physalis's colour is supposed to be purple, but somehow i felt that for this red feel more psychotic. This style of working with photos is heavily influenced by the art of Dav MacKean, if you've read some vertigo titles like Sandman and Black Orchid then you know him.

Wow! I'm impressed. I like how all the different elements are integrated so well. The colour scheme is sophisticated and soulfully vivid, and you captured the spirit amazingly well. The sketches and writing give an overall epic quality to the piece. Using your photo, of course, is quite uncanny- and where did you find a stingray?

on long beach around tofino area where i went fishing with my dad. a couple of boys found it.

Haha, actually I found this deviantion while doing a search for "Sandman," because I've been really into them lately. (Currently on volume 7.) In any case, yeah, I've read some other Gaiman/McKean graphic novels, and McKean's artwork is amazing.

they are really original... I got so into Sandman that I also read the Death miniseries and the Lucifer series. Have you watched the movie "Mirrormask"? Gaiman wrote it and McKean did all the artwork and animation stuff. It's really amazing.

hmm this might be an illegal hint, but there are downloads, and chinatowns usually sell illegal copies =)
